Hi there, I'm Shaylee
Happy to see you here! I am currently a senior Visual Communication Design major at The Ohio State University minoring in Human Development and Family Science. My mind is a constant reel of creative thinking and problem solving. I am passionate about how design research can work to enhance the longevity of sustainable design solutions; solutions that are built to be flexible and last in this ever-changing world. I have a lot of unique job experiences that have all aided in my strengths I carry today. I currently have an internship with the Athletic Department at OSU, creating graphics for social media, digital ads, and print media. Working here has given me a lot more experience with Photoshop, an Adobe software I didn't utilize as much as some others, and has also given me experience working with real world clients. Alongside my internship and being in school full time, I bartend at Buffalo Wild Wings. This not only helps to support me getting through college, but has helped to further develop my interpersonal skills as well as multitasking and quick prioritization with tasks.
Outside of school and working, I enjoy being outdoors and active. I grew up in the country, so hiking, kayaking, boating, and camping are all things right up my alley. I take my wolf hybrid Halo to the dog park a few times a week, and I am obsessed with playing card and board games. Fun fact: I am also in OSU Euchre Club!
I grew up being very physically active, but also active in my community. I'm passionate about leadership, and am a volunteer Leadership Staff member for OASL (Ohio Association of Student Leaders). I'm a professional kid at heart, and I love getting to exchange knowledge and experiences with others.
